For the cupcakes:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Step 1: Prepare the oven
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a cupcake tray with paper liners.
Step 2: Mix butter and sugar
In a bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 3: Add eggs and vanilla
Add the eggs one at a time while mixing. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Step 4: Combine dry ingredients
In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 5: Combine mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until smooth.
Step 6: Bake the cupcakes
Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 7: Cool the cupcakes
Remove from the oven and allow them to cool completely before frosting.
